CyberArt: A.I.s As Artistic Assistance

Here are some impressions of the opening of the art exhibition and auction, wich has been visited well and was introduced with a well chosen set of cyber-related music, mostly soundtracks, by DJane Fuyuko Amano. Most of the artwork got already bids, but can be outbid until 31st of December. In the gallery a hudbook is available with a description of each work and its creator. The assemblages are very unique and consist of a a.i. assisted basic picture, which has been enhanced by the artists with SL tools (sound, text, animation). Thanks to all the guests and to the Rockcliffe University for providing the space and the prims.

"CyberArt, also known as cybernetic or digital art in a broader sense, is a genre of art that incorporates technology and digital media into its design and presentation. The history of CyberArt can be traced back to the 1982 film Blade Runner, which depicts a dystopian future world with advanced technology and artificial beings. Another influential work in the development of CyberArt is the 1995 anime film Ghost in the Shell, which explores themes of artificial intelligence and the blurring of boundaries between man and machine.

Cyber art is often characterized by surreal elements such as rain, Asian symbols, flying fish, dark urban environments, and artificial creatures and plants. These elements create a sense of unease and otherness, evoking the feeling of being in a parallel world. Asmita Duranjaya, an art theorist and researcher in the field of cyber art, sees in them the projection of an occidental idea of the future Asia and the subliminal fear of an increasingly decadent Western world of Asian dominance.

In addition to its surreal features, CyberArt often explores themes of identity, consciousness, and the impact of technology on society. These themes are exemplified in works such as the Matrix trilogy, which raises questions about the nature of reality and the role of technology in shaping our understanding of the world.

Overall, CyberArt is a fascinating and complex genre that continues to evolve as technology advances. Its surreal elements and thematic explorations make it a unique and thought-provoking art form." (assisted by https://chat.openai.com/auth/login).

Aural Blossoms by Artistic Oluja / Littlewing

Littlewing (Artistic Oluja) is another artist participating in the MindScape-project and has created an audio-visual sculpture with the following explanation:
"This piece is inspired by the idea that music evokes a map of emotions in our brains, as demonstrated in a recent study https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/327430#2-different-cultures,-similar-responses. The research mapped different emotions that are evoked by listening to different types of music, as demonstrated in this interactive neuro-map here: https://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~acowen/music.html#
"Aural Blossoms" is an visual-audio experiment in which I've played with a collage of colourful textures, incorporating kaleidescope patterns I created out of second life snapshots as well as music visualization wave patterns produced in the iOS beta app "Endlesss." The idea is to portray the sensation of music that blossoms in your headspace, evoking a landscape of emotion as you listen to different sounds that guide your mood.
The music was created in the iOS beta app called "Endlesss," By my artist name Littlewing, in collaboration with other musicians (Mostlyjustj, Modulargrey, Theau, Thesaxophonewarrior)  using multiple looping tracks that overlay each other and are controlled by user interaction in Second Life. The Endlesss app also produced visual wave forms which have been incorporated into the texturing of the piece. Special thanks to Zzyzx for his kind help with the scripts :)
Click the individual rings to turn individual layers on and off, click the lower half of the installation to dance inside the rings.
Hope you enjoy it."

State Of Mind by June Clavenham

June Clavenham was born and lives in Montevideo, Uruguay. studied art with Alamón, Montani, Aroztegui, and Taller Subte. She studied photography at Taller Aquelarre and had exhibitions at both private and goverment facilities. She says about her work in Second Life:
"Many years ago digital art grew on me as a new and innovative way of expressing, as it is created in a non traditional way and seen in a different media.  Initially based on fractals, and using different software to bring shapes and colors to a new dimension, I am interested in exploring the options brought to us by the development of technology.
I had exhibitions in many places dedicated to art in SL, including UWA and LEA".
Her contribution for MindScape is a sculpture called "State Of Mind" and her comment says:
""State of Mind” intends to be a visual representation of how the thoughts we choose to entertain in our minds affect our emotions, the way we perceive our realitiy, the way we interact with others, and in general, all of our being and our lives":

Betty Tureaud - Artificial Intelligence

The next artist in the MindScape exhibition of interstellART is Danish artist Betty Tureaud. Her focus is on Artificial Intelligence. She says:

"In computer science, artificial intelligence (AI),
sometimes called machine intelligence,
is intelligence demonstrated by machines,
in contrast to the natural intelligence
displayed by humans.
In my art installation I combine AI whith Neuralink,
a cable direct into the brain to make a superhuman,
a cyborg, where artificial intelligence AI
is combined with human intelligence."

This is an interactive sculpture with a dance-animation, if you sit on it.
